Aglaia edulis (Roxb.) Wall.

Vernacular names: Chuvanna-akil Karakil

Habit: Tree

Habitat: Semi-evergreen and evergreen forests

Distribution: Western Ghats (Endemic)

 Flowering and fruiting: December-June

Key identification features: The leaves are imparipinnate, arranged alternately, and have no stipules. The flowers are polygamo-dioecious, yellow in color, and form axillary panicles. Each flower has 5 orbicular, glabrous petals. There are 5 included anthers. The ovary is superior and covered in fine hairs.

Uses: It is an anti-inflammatory medicine
