Habitat: Dry deciduous forests, also widely planted

Distribution: Indo-Malesia

Flowering and fruiting: March-April.

Key identification features: These evergreen trees grow up to 20 m tall and have greyish-brown bark with vertical striations. Their imparipinnate leaves are arranged alternately, featuring 7-15 leaflets that are lanceolate or falcate in shape. The flowers are white, bisexual, and form in axillary panicles. The fruit is a greenish-yellow drupe

Uses: The twigs are used as a toothbrush. The leaves are used in religious rites. The wood is used to light the funeral pyre. The leaves are used to treat chickenpox.
