Habit: Tree

Habitat: River bank soils, streams, and ravines

Distribution: India, Sri Lanka

Flowering and fruiting: Flowers bloom during May to June.Fruits ripe October to November

Key identification features: In axillary panicled spikes; cream, fragrant. Simple leaf,oblong -obovate to oblanceolate, leaf apex obtuse

Uses: Its bark decoction is being used in the Indian subcontinent for anginal pain, hypertension, congestive heart failure, and dyslipidemia, based on the observations of ancient physicians for centuries.
