Getonia floribunda Roxb.

 

Family: Combretaceae

Synonym: Calycopteris floribunda (Roxb.) Lam. ex Poir.

Habit: Liana

Habitat: Moist and dry deciduous forests, scrub jungles, also in the plains

Distribution: India, Southeast Asia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Bangladesh

Flowering and Fruiting: January - April

Key identification features: Lianas with branchlets densely pilose. Panicles Fruit including calyx lobes, densely pilose; persistent calyx lobes longitudinally 3-veined with reticulate veins between, both surfaces pilose, especially on veins, or glabrescent, abaxially sparsely dark scaly.

Uses: Laxative, diaphoretic and anthelmintic
