Synonym: Quisqualis indica L.

Vernacular name: Kulamarinji, Thookuchethi (Malayalam)

Habit: Climbing shrub

Habitat: Rain forests, hedges, mountains, riversides and wasteland

Distribution: Pantropical

Key identification features: A vigorous twining climber blooming profusely throughout summer. This plant needs support for growing and is very useful in covering fences, supports, and walls. The fragrant white flowers grow in pendent racemes, quickly changing to pink then red, making a spectacular show.

Flowering and Fruiting: Throughout the year

Uses: Used as ascariasis, ringworm disease, infant, malnutrition
