Vernacular name: Erumathali, Odal, Vattodal,Vellodal(Malayalam)

Habit: Shrub

Habitat: Evergreen and semi-evergreen forests, also in sacred groves

Distribution: Indo-Malesia

Flowering & Fruiting: February-June

Key identification features: Woody climbers, branchlets glabrous. Leaves oblong-lanceolate, apex acuminate.Spikes slender, axillary or from tubercles. Flowers yellow,calyx cupular,female flowers mostly from old wood.

Uses: Medicinal. It is used in the treatment of rheumatism, leprosy.Timber.
