Habit: Trees

Habitat: Evergreen forests

Distribution: Western Ghats

Flowering & Fruiting: March-September

Key identification features: Trees with bark surface black, smooth, often blotched with grey; blaze creamy yellow; young shoots glabrous. Leaves simple, alternate, distichous, drooping, estipulate; Flowers bisexual, yellow. Fruit an aggregate of berries, green, globose; seed one.

Uses: Treating digestive disorders
