Habitat: Deciduous forests

Distribution: Endemic to Peninsular India; in the Western Ghats- South and Central Sahyadri

Flowering & Fruiting: May-June

Key identification features: Small trees with bark finely fissured. Leaves simple, alternate and spiral. Inflorescence in panicle, flowers polygamous, sessile. Fruit is a Drupe, compressed, 1-seeded

Uses: treating gastrointestinal disorders
