Vernacular name: Kara

Habit: Tree

Habitat: Evergreen forests, also in sacred groves

Distribution: Peninsular India

Flowering & Fruiting: November-February

Key identification features: Leaves elliptic- oblong, acute at both ends, distantly serrate, glabrous above and glabrescent below. Drupe ovoid or globose.

Uses: Treat various ailments like digestive disorders, skin conditions, and respiratory problems.
