Habitat: Moist deciduous and semi-evergreen forests, also in the plains

Distribution: Southern Western Ghats

Flowering and Fruiting: September-December

Key identification features: Erect shrubs; Flowers numerous; petals white or bluish white; glabrous. Pods minutely hispid, clawed.           

Uses: It is used as medicinal folkloric remedies for the treatment of several ailments.The plant extracts exhibit antioxidant, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory activities.
