Habitat: Dry gravel, sandy beds of streams

Distribution: India, Central America

Flowering and Fruiting: Throughout the year

Key identification features: It is a perennial herb or subshrub, with stems ascending or erect, 1-2 m tall. Leaves are trifoliate, leaflets elliptic, ovate, Flowers are 22-75 in terminal, somewhat lax inflorescences about 15-40 cm long. Petals are yellow with lines near base, Pods brown at maturity.

Uses: Ants feed on the nectar. Children play with the fruits as a rattle.
