Habit: Climbing shrub

Habitat: Evergreen forests

Distribution: Wet tropical biome

Flowering and Fruiting: July-January

Key identification features: Clustering moderate sized canes, sheath yellowish green, intermingled with thin smaller spines, brown-tomentose; mouth of the sheath with 3-4 longer spines. leaflets regular, long-acuminate. Partial inflorescence. Fruit subovoid.

Uses: The stems are of good quality and used for purposes such as furniturem basketry and sporting goods
