Key identification features: It is a prostrate
woody herbs with their leaves arranged in a 3-foliolate
pattern and leaflets that are obovate
in shape. The lateral leaflets are slanted. The flowers are axillary
and white solitary. Petals are. The staminal tube is
white with 10 yellow teeth at the
margins, and the anthers are sessile at the apex of the tube. Fruit is a
capsule.
Uses: The bark of Naregamia alata contains
fibers that may have been traditionally used for making ropes, twines, and
coarse textiles.
