Habitat: Cultivated

Distribution:  India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Thaliland, Vietnam

Flowering and Fruitin: Throughout the year

Key identification features: Bushy shrubs that spread via root sprouts. The opposite leaves, elliptic to oblong in shape, with a short acute tip at the apex. The base of the leaves is slightly cordate. The corymbs with short peduncles and pedicels. The berry is didymous

Uses: The flowers of Ixora coccinea can be used as a natural dye to impart a reddish-orange color to textiles and fabrics.
