Dendrobium nodosum Dalzell

Synonym: Flickingeria nodosa (Dalzell) Seidenf.

Habit: Herb

Habitat: Semi-evergreen and moist deciduous forests

Distribution:  Southern Western Ghats (Endemic)

Flowering and Fruiting: March-April

Key identification features: Tufted epiphytes with creeping root stock and sympodially branched stems have fusiform pseudobulbs. Each branch ends in a solitary, oblong-lanceolate leaf. The white flowers emerge in clusters of 1-3 from the tip of a pseudobulb

Uses: It serves as an ornamental plant in gardens and as a houseplant due to its attractive leaves and fragrant white to pink flowers.
