Habit: Herb

Habitat: Lateritic grassy slopes, forest plantations, also in the plains

Distribution: India and Sri Lanka    

Flowering and Fruiting: November-January

Key identification features: Slender herbs, spreading from a central woody root stock. Flowers yellow, anthers dimorphic.

Uses: The root is soporific and is used to induce sleep in children, This report probably should refer to Zornia gibbosa, The plant (part not specified) is used to treat dysentery and venereal diseases
