Shuteria involucrata (Wall.) Wight & Arn. ex Walp.

Habit: Climber

Habitat: Evergreen and semi-Evergreen forests, often in the plains

Flowering & Fruiting: November-April

Distribution: India, Himalayas, Sri Lanka, Southeast Asia, Malesia, China

Key identification features: Slender twiners, stem villous. Leaves 3-foliolate, leaflets unequal, Racemes axillary; Flowers many, white, deflexed; petals white, orbicular, keel oblong; stamens 9 + 1; ovary many-ovuled, densely hairy. Pods oblong, flat, densely hispid; seeds many, cubical.

Uses: Used as a green manure and cover crop in coffee, tea plantations
