Key identification features: These are evergreen trees or shrubs
with grey or brownish gray bark. The leaves are simple, opposite. The
inflorescence can be axillary or terminal, occurring either solitary or paired
in panicles. The flowers are bisexual. The fruit can be either dehiscent or
indehiscent capsules, encased by persistent sepals with 1-4 seeds
Uses: Wood is a good timber, seed oil
and dried flower are fragrant, cultivated as ornamental.
