Geissaspis cristata Wight & Arn.

Habit: Herb

Habitat: Grassy patches in moist open places

Distribution:  India, Sri Lanka

Flowering and Fruiting: July-January

Key identification features: Eyelashes Shell Beans is a much branched, diffuse herb with angular stems. Leaves are compound. Flowers are borne in racemes in leaf axils. Pods are  long-beaked.

Uses: Geissaspis cristata may have cultural or ritualistic significance in local traditions.
