Vernacular name: Kukkura-chedi, Rakila

Habit: Herb

Habitat: Dry deciduous forests, also in the plains

Distribution: Paleotropics

Flowering and Fruiting: Throughout the year

Key identification features: Herbs; stems terete, glabrous. Leaves broadly elliptic, irregularly toothed. Heads globose, terminal and upper axillary, 10-15 together; Bisexual flowers few; corolla glandular. Achenes ribbed, hairy.

Uses: Antispasmodic, antipyretic, antioxidant, anti-diarrheal, liver tonic, expectorant, diuretic, astringent and stimulant as well as to treat bronchitis, fevers and burning sensation
