Triumfetta rhomboidea Jacq.

Habit: Shrub

Habitat: Degraded deciduous forests, also in the plains

Distribution: Paleotropics

Flowering & Fruiting: August-January

Key identification features: Erect undershrubs with hairy stems. The leaves are simple and alternate and generally rhomboid-ovate. Flowers appear in terminal or leaf-opposed cymes, measuring 5-6 mm across and having short pedicels. The petals are yellow, oblong-obovate. The stamens range from 8-15. Fruit is a capsule.

Uses: Its leaves are used to treat pimples and blisters, while decoctions from the root and bark address conditions like diarrhea and dysentery.
