angles, and it is ciliate. The leaves are triangular-ovate.
The leaves are covered in fine hairs. The axillary flowers occur either
solitary or
in pairs. The corolla can be either deep purple
or have a yellowish
tube with deep purple lobes. There are 4 stamens,
which are didynamous.
Fruit is a capsule.
Uses: The leaves are eaten as a condiment and as a pot herb.
It is used to treat dysentery and other
intestinal problems. A decoction of the leaves is given after childbirth.
