Flowering and Fruiting: March-November

Key identification features: Scandent shrubs have simple, opposite leaves. The leaves are ovate, with an abruptly shortly acuminate apex and a truncate or subcordate base. The fragrant flowers grow in many-flowered lax trichotomously branched terminal cymes. The fruit is ovoid, and dries black. It can occur either singly or in pairs.

Uses: The flowers are sometimes used in perfumery and aromatherapy to create fragrant oils, essences, and perfumes.
