Habitat: Evergreen forests and wet rocky areas in moist deciduous forests

Distribution : South India and Sri Lanka

Flowering and Fruiting: February-April

Key identification features: This herb has simple, alternate leaves with a membranous texture and sparse hairs beneath. It bears monoecious flowers on a unique, discoid receptacle with male flowers on the edge and female flowers at the center. The fruit is an achene, embedded in the receptacle.

Uses: While its specific uses are not well-documented, related species have been used in traditional medicine as tonics and febrifuges.
