Habitat: Evergreen forests

Distribution: Western Ghats

Flowering & Fruiting: May-December

Key identification features: Evergreen trees with yellowish-grey, smooth. Leaves simple, opposite to alternate, estipulate. Flowers bisexual, white, in axillary and terminal paniculate spikes; Fruit a drupe ellipsoid, 5-angled, speckled with brown spots, glabrous, yellowish-brown; seed one.

Uses: Treating gastrointestinal disorders, making it valuable in promoting digestive health
