Pogostemon auricularius (L.) Hassk.

Synonym: Dysophylla auricularia (L.), Blume, Eusteralis auricularia (L.) M.R.Almeida

Habit: Herb

Habitat: Paddy fields, road sides, near drains, wet places

Distribution: India, China, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Borneo 

Flowering and Fruiting: February-July

Key identification features: Scandent herbs; stem terete, villous. Spike cylindrical, terminal; Flowers many, densely packed; Nutlets glabrous, smooth, brown.

Uses: The leaves are antiasthmatic, carminative, diuretic and stomachic. They are used in the treatment of stomach and skin diseases, to treat coughs and asthma
