Habit: Shrub

Habitat: Planted along hedges; frequently runs wild

Distribution: India, Sri Lanka, Malaccas, Malaysia, Philippines, China

Flowering and Fruiting: December-May

Key identification features: It is a shrub with dark purple branches that are smooth and cylindrical. The leaves are either linear or oblong-lanceolate in shape. The spikes are terminal. The flowers are white. The fruit capsule is glabrous.

Uses:  Non-hormonal contraceptive option for men.
