Key identification features: The hispid climber features deeply palmately divided leaves that are
narrowly oval to obovate. The plant produces flowers in long-peduncled bracteate heads. The flowers are subsessile in axillary, capitate clusters. The corolla is white to pink and purple.
The capsule is ovoid and
glabrous, enclosing grey-tomentose seeds.
Uses: have diuretic, purgative, and
anti-inflammatory effects. It is often used to treat urinary disorders,
constipation, gastrointestinal issues, and inflammatory conditions.
