Habitat: Evergreen forests

Distribution: Southern Western Ghats

Flowering & Fruiting: January-November

Key identification features: Tree with buttressed trunk, Leaves simple, oblong-lanceate to elliptic, coriaceous. Flowers yellow, in dense fascicles on old wood. Fruits capsule globose. Seeds large, arillate.

Uses: Fruit edible, Timber yielding.
