Habit: Tree

Habitat: Moist and dry deciduous forests, also in the plains

Distribution: Tropical Asia

Flowering and Fruiting: February-July

Key identification features: This small deciduous tree features exfoliating bark. Its leaves are simple, obovate. The inflorescence consists of a few flowered spike, and the flowers themselves are yellowish-white. The tree produces a globose berry as its fruit. The bisexual flowers of this plant are greenish-white. They grow in terminal spikes.

Use: Leaves used for silkworm. Flowers and fruits are foetid
