Vernacular name: Racemose Starviolet

Habit: Herb

Habitat: Rocky places in coastal areas

Distribution: Western Ghats (Endemic)

Flowering and Fruiting: November-December

Key identification features: This plant is an erect, slender, and branched annual herb with a smooth stem and long internodes. It bears pink flowers arranged in loose clusters, either at the end of the stem or arising from the axils. The fruit is a compressed capsule that opens from the top, revealing a structure resembling four fused cups.

Uses: It is used as an ornamental plant in gardens and as a ground cover in landscaping.
