Habitat: Moist deciduous forests, grasslands and wet sandy fields

Distribution: Indo-Malesia, South China

Flowering and Fruiting: September-January

Key identification features: This plant is a diffuse, densely hispid herb with orange-yellow roots. Its leaves are basally opposite, and the upper ones are alternate. The flowers are solitary, subsessile, and axillary, with a rose-colored or white corolla. The capsule is dark brown, ovoid, and loculicidal, covered by persistent calyx lobes.

Use: With delicate white, star-shaped flowers, it serves as an ornamental plant in gardens and also acts as ground cover.
