Key identification features: Climbing or trailing herbs with alternate leaves
that are bi-ternate. The leaflets are ovate-lanceolate.
The white flowers
are polygamous,
found in 3-7-flowered axillary tendril-bearing peduncles. The 4 white petals
are unequal
and have basal scales. Inside the flower, there are 8 stamens with unequal filaments.
Capsule is papery, inflated, 3-lobed.
Uses: used topically to treat skin
conditions like eczema, dermatitis, and rashes.
