Key identification features: Perennial herbs with long trailing branches, the stem is reddish
and tomentose. The leaves are unequal, ovate. The flowers are small,
approximately and occur in clusters of 4 to 10. These inflorescences are found
either in the axils of leaves or terminal on peduncled umbels. The perianth is
pink. The plant has 3 stamens. The capsule is clavate
Uses: Young leaves are eaten cooked as
vegetable other wise the plant has much valued as medicinal. Generally used in
treatment of dropsy and urinary disorders
