Vernacular name: Moovila

Habit: Shrub

Habitat: Moist deciduous forests, also in the plains

Distribution: Peninsular India and Sri Lanka

Flowering and Fruiting: November-March

Key identification features: Viscid pubescent subshrubs. Flowers in axillary or terminal, often branched racemes; Corolla purplish; Pods linear-oblong, compressed, pubescent with hooked hairs. Seeds 4-6, reniform.

Uses: The root is considered to be anthelmintic, antifungal, antiinflammatory, antioxidant, antitumor, aphrodisiac, astringent, cardiotonic, digestive, diuretic, hypotensive, rejuvenating and tonic
