Habitat: Moist deciduous forests

 

Distribution: Western Ghats

 

Flowering & Fruiting: January-March

 

Key identification features: Profusely branched herbs, branches quadrangular, glabrous. Leaves elliptic, acuminate at both ends. Spikes terminal, cylindrical, densely covered with hairy cladodes. Flowers in whorls; corolla upper lip 2-lobed and lower lip 3-lobed, hairy; Capsule  oblong; seeds 6-12, thinly hairy.
